There’s always something going on, and here are some top local favorites to spice up your weekend, date night, family time, or vacation itinerary!


10. CANYON JAMS

A great way to spend your summer and fall nights is to head into Logan Canyon and enjoy some jamming under the stars at Stokes Nature Center. This concert series is a great idea for a date night or night out with friends. You’ll be entertained with music while soaking in the exceptional beauty of Logan Canyon. Grab a blanket and don’t miss an opportunity to enjoy this unique concert experience.

Along the Bear River lies the Old Barn Community Theatre that performs in... well you guessed it...an old barn. This charming location offers talented community theater by a company that strives to give you an escape from the humdrum of everyday life for a few hours by taking you through time, space, and worlds through the magic of their productions. Located on the East side of the Utah State University campus, NEHMA is home to a collection of over 5,000 artworks. The Museum, along with its public events and exhibitions, are free of charge. They host multiple tours, classes, and activities held throughout the year which are great to bring your family, a date, or a group of friends to. It’s a great environment to explore and inspire the artist in each of us. The best way to end your tour of the Museum is to stop by Noni’s Cafe, located inside the Museum, or head across the street to pick up some famous Aggie Ice Cream!

The Four Seasons Theatre Company performs their musical productions in Logan’s northern neighbor: Smithfield, Utah. The Company strives to provide excellent and affordable community theatre that’s certain to entertain the whole family. 6. CHERRY PEAK CONCERT SERIES

Located 30 minutes North of Logan, Cherry Peak is a ski resort turned outdoor concert venue during the summer months. Enjoy a great view of the sunset as you look out of the canyon, then get ready to party as the jamming begins. A range of famous artists and performers grace the stage each summer so keep an eye out for your favorite band.


5. CAINE LYRIC THEATRE

The Caine Lyric Theatre is located on Center Street of Logan in the heart of historic downtown. Built in 1913 by the Thatcher family, it has been the home to live theatre, performances, and a friendly, Shakespeare-loving ghost since. The theatre is run by Utah State University throughout the year then the baton goes to the Lyric Repertory Company during the summer. The shows must be great if the dead are even coming back to see them! Any time of year is a great time to stop in and have a classic or contemporary theater experience by these talented performers.

An iconic centerpiece on Center Street in historic downtown Logan is the Utah Theatre. It continues to host performances by the Utah Festival Opera each summer and other live performances throughout the year, but you can also enjoy a cinematic show at this charming theatre. Cinematic highlights include silent movies with a live pianist, musical singalongs, and classic movie favorites. It’s a fun and unique way to mix up your weeknights!


3. PICKLEVILLE PLAYHOUSE

An hour North of Logan lies the bright blue waters of Bear Lake, and along its edge sits Pickleville Playhouse. The Playhouse is famous for their comedic acting, beautiful sets, and talented singing. They have alternating shows running through the summer months, and you can feast beforehand, just next door, with their Wild West Cookout prior to the show. Plus, visiting gives you the chance to stop by and pick up Garden City’s famous raspberry shakes so it’s a great addition for your weekend getaway!

Audiences stream in from across Utah each summer to see the shows in the Utah Festival Opera. Using multiple local theatres, this talented company provides Logan a summer of fantastic grand operas, light operettas, and musicals. Take your pick...or two...or three...or all of the range of performances, costumes, and sets that roll into downtown Logan each summer. Be sure to look for recurring performers in each play who often take on the impressive task of multiple roles each summer!

This historic theatre sits in the middle of downtown and continues to provide excellent theatre, artistic learning experiences, and community involvement. Each year, a season of national touring Broadway shows rolls into town and stops at this theatre. Don’t miss your chance to see some of these talents that have performed on stages across the nation! Local theatre companies, Utah Festival Opera, and other performers also take the stage at the Eccles. There’s always something excellent going on so head down to Main Street and enjoy a night at the theatre!
